My name is Ron Childs and I attended Camp Atwater every summer from age 12 to 16 and worked as a life guard and counselor when I was 17. I only have good memories from my time at Camp Atwater and I am still friends with some of the kids I met there. I reflect on the experiences, the fun, and the independence I gained from attending the camp. I still remember many of the counselors and what a positive male influence they had on my life. Thanks Camp Atwater.

My name is Winter and I attended camp from the age of 8 to 16 years old where I participated in the C.I.T. program. Now my little cousin attends Atwater and she absolute loves it! My mother attending camp over 20 years ago! Camp Atwater was the best experience of my life for 8 summers and I only have happy memories from my time there. I am still in touch with my friends and consulars from my time at Camp. This historically black camp is a piece of American history and I hope to see it last for another 95 years and beyond! The cost of camp is worth it!

Worked at a local hardware store & know they keep their campground top notch

Best experience of my life. This was the foundation of the work values that I have now. Working in the kitchen and started as a dishwasher inspired me to go to college and give back to the very communities that have made me what I am today.

I loved to swim and learned how to scuba dive there. Plus 3 generations of my family went there. You learned how to be strong and confident as a black in society.
